Mainfreight Belgium receives prestigious Gateway²Britain certificate for trade with the United Kingdom

In the presence of Flemish Minister of Economy, Innovation, and Agriculture, Jo Brouns, Mainfreight had the honour to receive the prestigious Gateway²Britain quality label. Launched by VIL to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in trading with the United Kingdom, this label represents significant added value for both Flemish companies and Mainfreight. Mainfreight considers the Gateway²Britain project a crucial and welcome initiative. With the support of Gateway²Britain, we are determined to delight our customers, alleviate uncertainties, and guide them on the path to the United Kingdom.

The recent challenges in the trade landscape after Brexit have affected Flemish companies. Particularly, SMEs faced significant obstacles due to more complex logistical processes and required documentation for customs clearance, resulting in higher administrative and logistical costs.
The Gateway²Britain project, financially supported by the European Union, includes the establishment of physical service points to assist SMEs in their logistical challenges. Flemish companies can quickly find a logistics partner through this initiative, relieving them of administrative activities and the complexity of transport to the United Kingdom.
