5 Years Mainfreight Europe
This year we have reached the five year anniversary of Mainfreight in Europe. In 2011 the Wim Bosman Group was purchased by Mainfreight and as a result of this acquisition the organisation became a global player backed by a powerful network for customer specific and preferably integrated warehousing, transport and distribution solutions. This has created opportunities for our existing and future customers. Last April we have celebrated this anniversary with a Family day at all European branches.
Story of Mainfreight
Global supply chain provider Mainfreight was founded by Mr. Bruce Plested in 1978 in New Zealand. In the years that followed Mainfreight expanded its global footprint by opening branches across Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States. In 2011 Mainfreight became a global supply chain provider after the acquisition of the Wim Bosman Group. Currently the organisation has 239 branches with more than 6,400 team members worldwide.
The Mainfreight Culture
“Special people, Special company” embodies Mainfreight and its unique culture. The organisation has developed a style of doing business, successful not only in New Zealand, but around the world. Mainfreight is built on a 100-year vision. This view shapes the approach of the organisation to recruitment and training of team members, customer and supplier relationships, growth strategies and legal and tax structures. As a customer of a Mainfreight Group company, you can rely on:
- An “anything is possible” attitude
- A commitment to delivering your freight consignments on time and damage-free - and to promptly and honestly resolve issues when they arise
- Improvement in service through reinvestment in people, facilities, equipment and technologies.
Developments of Mainfreight Europe
In 2015 new branches were opened in Bergen op Zoom (The Netherlands), Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Gelsenkirchen (Germany), Gent (Belgium) and Poznań/Luboń (Poland) . This year we have seen a change in addresses at our Air & Ocean branches in Rotterdam and Antwerp. With a recent development in our Air & Ocean branch is the newly establishment of our branch in the United Kingdom. The opening of our first venture into the United Kingdom provides additional trade lanes for us to develop, and reduces our exposure to agents.
Beside expansion of our business in Europe, we also noticed a change in our Wim Bosman branches in France, Poland, Ukraine and Russia. These branches were re-named to Mainfreight. We believe that it is time to focus on the future of the Wim Bosman Group. That is why we are proud to announce that the Wim Bosman Group is going to change its name to Mainfreight as of December 2016. There will be no consequences for our customers, as we will still have the same people, offering the same quality and services as in the last 53 years.
Our customers can still rely on excellent supply chain solutions and an enthusiastic team which is focused on great performances and quality.
